Now that Dispatch is officially over, one question lingers: will we see a Season 2? That answer is still a mystery. AdHoc is still relishing from their episodic game’s success after selling over 2 million units since its launch.
In the meantime, we could only speculate about what’s coming next for Dispatch’s future. Personally, I’d love to see a spin-off for its tutorial characters.

In Dispatch’s very first episode, after Blonde Blazer hands a VR machine to Robert for a quick onboarding of his upcoming job. This was basically the game’s tutorial section, teaching you how to get around its ‘dispatching’ gameplay. It’s pretty easy, not because it’s just the tutorial, but because your team is literally the best of the best. They each have inflated stats, making dispatching calls a cakewalk. Alongside Phenomaman, we were using one of the best heroes in Dispatch’s universe.
Imagine if we got a spin-off chapter to one of these elite classes of heroes. Part of the reason why I’d love to see them is that not every hero in Dispatch’s world is what it seems. The Z-Team was a ragtag group of temperamental heroes united by a common goal, but this A-Team was something else. They are the best SDN (Superhero Dispatch Network) has to offer, and it’d be great to see them getting more humanized by AdHoc's witty writing.
In the tutorial section, we see heroes like Brainbook, who has the highest intellect stat in the group. In addition to her and Phenomaman, we also see other heroes like Equilibrium, Pom Pom, Sweetalker and Brickhouse. We don’t get much of their stories, and they don’t have much banter going on in the tutorial, but we do have an idea of what their stats are.

If AdHoc has plans for the future, then they already have a solid foundation of who these characters are. It’d be such a shame if they simply glaze over their great character designs and move on to another batch of heroes. They don’t have to be the full cast of Season 2, but it’d be great to see them come back in some capacity.
Which is why a spin-off would be great. AdHoc can do a two-parter epilogue of Dispatch after Mecha Man’s revival. Maybe focus on what these heroes were doing during Shroud’s attack on Torrance. It may not add much to the story of Robert and the Z-Team’s life, but it provides more depth to the zany superhero world of Dispatch.
AdHoc could even use their story to set up a teaser for what Season 2’s plot could be.
Call it a pipe dream, but it’s something I want to see in Dispatch’s future. There’s a lot of potential to expand on their established characters, and this ‘A-Team’ feels like the perfect fit to move the story forward. Robert Robertson’s story is over, so it’s a no-brainer for AdHoc to set its sights on a whole set of heroes.
But whatever AdHoc’s plans are, I’m excited either way.
