Battlefield 6 is almost here, and it’s about to be a huge download.
With the game launching on October 10, players who pre-ordered will get the chance to start installing early so they’re ready to jump in when the second servers go live.
EA has already locked in the global pre-load schedule, and it’s the perfect way to avoid last-minute patch scrambles or watching friends get in before you.
On top of that, Season 1 content will start rolling out just weeks after launch, so having everything ready ahead of time is more important than ever.
Here’s when you can start pre-loading and how the timing lines up with the game’s worldwide release.
When Can You Start Pre-Loading Battlefield 6?
Players with either the Standard or Phantom Edition of Battlefield 6 don’t have to wait for release day to get the download started.

Players can start pre-loading on October 3, 2025, at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 4 PM BST. This early download is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through the EA App or Steam.
The build is expected to be large, as it already contains high-resolution assets and the technical groundwork for the first wave of seasonal content.
While EA hasn’t given an exact file size, reports suggest players should free up a significant chunk of storage space to avoid day-one delays.
Once everything’s installed, there’s no way to start playing early since EA ruled out early access. Servers will open to everyone worldwide on October 10, 2025, at 8:00 AM PT / 11:00 AM ET / 4:00 PM BST.
Digital pre-orders will automatically unlock once the clock hits those times. At the same time, physical buyers can install the disc and patch beforehand if their console or PC has completed the preload.
