Nintendo recently held its June Direct, featuring a stacked roster of games slated to release on the Switch and Switch 2
Expectations for this Nintendo Direct were high, and Nintendo definitely delivered. Over 40 games were announced during the showcase. From Pokémon Pokopia players to Ocarina of Time remake believers, there was a title for every type of gamer.
Including me, a JRPG and cozy game lover. Here are five games I'm excited for following the Nintendo June Direct.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake
I had predicted this game would be announced, and yet I was still pleasantly surprised when it was the closer of this June's Nintendo Direct.

Ocarina of Time is considered one of the most iconic games of all time and is one of the most well-known titles from the Zelda franchise. It's one of the first Zelda games I played when I got the Nintendo Switch 2, so seeing the trailer introducing the story we all know and love with 3D animation caused me to feel a wave of nostalgia.
No release date yet, but I'm definitely keeping up with any updates.
Hello Kitty Party Land
I'm a sucker for fun party games you can play with friends. Make it Hello Kitty, and I'm positively hooked.

I've been a life-long Sanrio fan thanks to my mother's love of Little Twin Sisters. Now, as a self-professed Kuromi fan, I'm excited to get Hello Kitty Party Land (and make my friends get it too) so we can play the character mini-games and get our favorite character as our partners.
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave
I've been obsessed with Fire Emblem ever since the release of Fire Emblem Fates for the 3DS. I played both Conquest and Birthright, and have been hooked on the franchise ever since. So when Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave was announced in 2025, I patiently waited for updates.

And during this year's Nintendo June Direct, we finally got one. The game will launch on September 17 on the Switch 2. Fortune's Weave will feature four protagonists who will compete in the Heroic Games.
Xenoblade Genesis
I'll be honest - I've slept on the Xenoblade Chronicles. However, when the trailer for Xenoblade Genesis played during the Nintendo Direct showcase, I was immediately hooked. It definitely helps that the game was described as a "new beginning" for the series, which probably means newbies like me will be able to get into it, too.

The game is set in an academy called Leuokos and will feature a blonde protagonist who, in the trailer, states she will "uphold this blade’s honour, I swear it." The game launches in 2027.
Kingdom Hearts 4
Kingdom Hearts is another franchise that is bound to hit players with a wave of nostalgia. Admittedly, I was too young to play the first few Kingdom Hearts games (the first one came out in 2002... I was two years old). The first Kingdom Hearts title I played was Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance on the 3DS.

While I don't have much experience with the main games, I was definitely intrigued by the trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4. While past titles featured settings from Disney movies, the trailer showed Sora in a modern city that looked eerily like Japan. This mix of an urban city with characters from Disney is definitely interesting, and I want to see how these two worlds will collide.
