Apex Legends gives players many options when it comes to weapons, some of which are better than others.
Guns are broken down by class, and each has a unique set of stats that makes it stand apart from others.
It is a complex system that is carefully balanced by Respawn Entertainment to provide the absolute best quality game possible and to allow players to use the loadout that best suits their playstyle.
Still, some guns are just better overall than others, especially in their own class.
Apex Legends Weapon Stats
Apex Legends has several different classes of weapons, each with its own strengths and weaknesses.
There are several things to consider with each weapon, including ammo type, slots, damage, RPM, projectile travel speed, and fire modes.
Apex Legends treats each projectile as its own object, so travel speed and bullet drop are things that affect how effective a weapon is at different ranges.

Best Apex Legends Guns by Class
Now that the nitty-gritty details are out of the way, what are the best guns to use from each class?
Time to break it down.
Assault Rifles
The R-301 has always been a great gun in Apex Legends and remains the best AR in the game.
It is a dependable gun that gives players exactly what they expect out of it:
- Consistent damage
- High accuracy
- Manageable recoil
- Fully automatic
The Carbine is a weapon that both beginners and veterans can get a lot of use out of throughout an entire match.
SMGs
Without a doubt, the Prowler is the best of the bunch here, but it s a Supply Drop weapon and not an easy one to come by.
Players cannot go wrong with a Volt, or even the R-99, both of which are solid weapons.
When it comes to SMGs, just avoid the Alternator at all costs.
LMGs
With only three guns in the class, LMGs are hard to pick from.
The Spitfire offers the most reliable option of the three, not having to worry about RPM acceleration or chewing through an entire supply of ammunition in a matter of seconds.
Marksman
The newest class in Apex Legends, introduced in Season 9 with the Bocek Bow.
The Marksman class consists of the G7 Scout, 30-30 Repeater, Triple Take, and Bocek Bow.
Out of all of these, it is hard not to pick the Bocek Bow as the best, even with its recent damage nerf.
The 30-30 comes in at a close second, especially with the addition of the Shatter Caps option added in Season 9.
Sniper Rifles
The Kraber is hands-down one of the best weapons in the game, but like the Prowler in the SMG class, it is a Supply Drop weapon and hard to get a hand on.
The Longbow offers snipers a stable experience and the ability to fire multiple shots without having to charge up or reload.
It is less technical than the other sniper rifles, but sometimes the beauty of something lies in its simplicity.
Shotguns
Every shotgun is an excellent choice when it comes to close-range combat, even the Mozambique with the recent change to the gun in Season 9.
Overall, the EVA-8 comes out on top, being fully automatic and considering its excellence even when firing at the hip.
The EVA-8, along with Volt, were a common sight during the 2021 ALGS Championship matches.
Pistols
The Wingman.
It is a powerhouse of a pistol compared to the other two in Apex Legends.
It packs a punch and can be fully kit out to carry a player through an entire match.
