Increases to the Maximum Storage Capacity in homes were recently announced in a Nintendo Direct Presentation, allowing players of Animal Crossing: New Horizons to collect even more items. These expansions will allow players to hoard even more of their favourite pieces of furniture or clothing in their homes.

How to Increase Maximum Storage Capacity
Increasing the Maximum Storage Capacity of a home is easy. Much like every expansion that a player will request in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, they will have to talk to Tom Nook. Players can visit the Construction Desk in the Town Hall to speak to him, and then request to speak about their home. From here, they can select 'Expand my storage' to then increase how many items their home can store. Although, this will cost a fee of Bells, as you'd expect!
What Are The Maximum Storage Expansions
Previously, the Maximum Storage in players' homes was 2400 items. This can now be expanded up to three times, after the Version 2.0 update lands. The three expansions are as follows:
- From 2400 to 3200 items.
- From 3200 to 4000 items.
- From 4000 to 5000 items.
There will be no more having to sell or trash items that won't fit into home storage. Players will be able to stock up on their favourite furniture, tools and clothing with these expansions. The increase in Maximum Storage Capacity is a very welcome addition for those of us who are huge hoarders in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
