You can do a few different things to the exterior of a client's home so we're going to show you how to use trees and plants.

How To Use Trees and Plants

When you're decorating the exterior of your client's home, you will need to follow these steps to be able to use trees and plants:

• Enter building mode by pressing down on your directional pad.
• Press + to cycle through the mode options until the wardrobe symbol in the upper right-hand corner of your screen is highlighted.

When you've done this, press right on your directional pad to open the items screen. At the top, you should see that everything has been sorted into several different sections. The one you need to scroll to is the one with the tree. Once you're here, it should open a section that will look like this:

On this screen, you should be able to see all of the trees, plants, flowers and rocks that are currently available for you to use. All you need to do now is click on which one you want to use and place it down.

If you're placing down any plant life (tree, shrub, flowers) then there's a little trick you can do. If you hover over the plant or tree and press X, you will be able to cycle through the different stages of that plant. For example, if you click on a tree you will then have the following options:

• Sapling
• Small Tree
• Medium Tree
• Big Tree
• Tree Stump

Should You Use Trees and Plants?

Unless the client specifically requests that you use them, then it's your choice whether you do or don't place down trees and plants. Often, using these items is a brilliant and easy way of making the exterior of the home look nicer. Trees and plants are also extremely useful if you want to create a particular theme or atmosphere for that home.
