Animal Crossing New Horizons Reaches An Incredible 32.6 Million Sales Worldwide


With the previous fiscal year ending on March 31st, we've seen various publishers reporting their financial results in the last few weeks. Following Activision and CD Projekt, Nintendo's own results has just been published, revealing a couple of interesting insights.

Covering April 2020 until March 31st 2021, it's not too surprising to see that Animal Crossing: New Horizons came top of the list for game sales, taking in 20.85 million across last year, placing it at 32.63 million lifetime sales.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Reaches An Incredible 32.6 Million Sales Worldwide

In second is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which continues its upwards trend four years after launching, proving to be an evergreen title for Nintendo. Despite not receiving any major content updates, Deluxe sold another 10.62 million copies, placing it 35.39 million sales in total.

Elsewhere, Super Mario 3D All-Stars took in a solid 9.01m, Ring Fit Adventure hit 7.38m (10.11m total), Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury achieved 5.59 million since February 2021, and a large number of Nintendo's back catalogue also exceeded 1 million.

As for third-party publishers, we don't have those specific stats, but Nintendo confirmed 14 titles also exceeded 1 million sales, making it a very successful year for Switch games.
