Is Aliens: Fireteam Elite Local Co-Op or Split Screen?

Since Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a co-op shooter, there’s a ton of fans hoping that it will have some sort of local co-op or split-screen option, which are always good features for games of this genre.

Unfortunately, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is an online-only co-op shooter, so gamers who were hoping to bring their freshly vaccinated friends over are out of luck.

It is a bit disappointing that couch co-op games have been mostly abandoned by the AAA gaming industry and we can only hope that the demand for this feature shows that it still has legs.

To be fair, online shooters are still very popular and we’re sure Aliens: Fireteam Elite will have a lot to show when it comes out next month. Visually, it captures the mood of Aliens very well and the weapons look really fun to use, so here’s hoping that Aliens: Fireteam Elite ends up being a really good game that doesn’t make us want local co-op, at least for now.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is coming to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on August 24.
