Aliens: Fireteam Elite has surprised a lot of gamers because it actually looks like a quality co-op shooter with good graphics and some cool-looking weapons, so we wish that a release date would be announced already but quality over quantity I suppose.
Currently, we’re all hoping to see more of Aliens: Fireteam Elite and though it won’t make the same impact as Alien: Isolation, the opportunity to have a competent Aliens shooter that’s cross-play will permanently remove our painful memories of Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Is Aliens: Fireteam Elite Cross-Play Supported?
Unfortunately, the developers in Cold Iron Studios aren’t working on cross-play for Aliens: Fireteam Elite, at least not at the moment.
The developers in Cold Iron Studios have stated that they’re focusing on the release of Aliens: Fireteam for each gaming system possible at the moment, with no talk of cross-play yet.
We’re sure those talks will eventually come, given that it’s on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X but it looks like they still have to work on the game itself, thus far.
To be fair to Cold Iron Studios, they don’t have to implement cross-play in Aliens: Fireteam to make it a good game but that would be a feature fans would appreciate, given how people like different systems.
Being able to play with your friend on PS4 while they have an Xbox One would be magical for this game, though we can imagine how frustrating it would be to configure cross-play between two different consoles.
Here’s hoping that Aliens: Fireteam is quality enough that the developers end up patching in cross-play.
Aliens: Fireteam is coming to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC sometime this year.
