Microsoft Announces Xbox 20th Anniversary Accessories

Xbox is turning 20, and assuming the news hasn't turned you to dust, you can get your hands on some snazzy new accessories to celebrate. Microsoft announced a 20th anniversary Xbox controller and wired headset to mark the occasion, with a special extra bonus if you connect to your current-gen Xbox.

The Xbox 20th anniversary wireless controller ($69.99) releases November 15 and features a translucent aesthetic that's more than just a visual gimmick. Jessica Tsujikawa, Xbox's senior product marketing manager, said the design is identical to the dev kit controllers Microsoft distributed while developing the original Xbox, and, naturally, it uses the same green as the company's first console.

It's essentially the same as other current Xbox wireless controllers, but if you pair it with an Xbox Series X|S, you get an exclusive background for your console.

The new headset also sports the translucent look and classic Xbox colors, with a rotating right cup for volume adjustment and support for Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone: X. It releases on November 15 as well and will cost $69.99.

Both will be available on the Microsoft Store and at select retailers, though Microsoft hasn't announced which retailers will have stock just yet.
