Naturally, while fans are excited to see what kind of gameplay improvements will be in WWE 2K22, everyone wants to know who will be making the roster this year.

June 2 - Superstars that won't make an appearance

The WWE issues a statement announcing the release of several superstars, including:

  • Braun Strowman
  • Aleister Black
  • Lana, Murphy
  • Ruby Riott
  • Santana Garrett

Seeing as these wrestlers are no longer signed with the WWE, it's safe to say we won't be seeing them in WWE 2K22.

WWE 2K22 Roster: All Confirmed Superstars (So Far)

The only trailer that’s been released thus far has only confirmed Rey Mysterio and Cesaro but more stars have seemingly been confirmed in recent weeks thanks to 2K Games releasing a number of motion capture videos.

Without further ado, here are some of the superstars we will be expecting to see in WWE 2K22.

Rey Mysterio

The first superstar revealed for WWE 2K22 and one half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions with his son Dominik Mysterio, Rey Mysterio being added to the game was a no-brainer.

It’s still a bit mind-boggling that he was the first superstar revealed, especially since he didn’t even have a match at WrestleMania 37, but we have very little to complain about with Rey Mysterio being in the game.

Cesaro

Mr. King of Swing himself was the second superstar announced for WWE 2K22 as he was on the receiving end of Rey Mysterio’s 619 in the trailer.

Cesaro has been in every WWE game ever since he debuted as a DLC character in WWE ‘13 and his stock has risen a lot lately, as he’s been a main event star on SmackDown, recently challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship during WrestleMania Backlash.

Ric Flair

Wooooo! The 16-time World Champion was confirmed during a behind-the-scenes look at WWE 2K22’s facial scanning.

Ric Flair is no stranger to WWE video games but it’s good to know that fans can still style and profile like the Dirtiest Player in the Game.

Booker T

We can dig that Sucka! Like Flair, Booker T was also confirmed during the game’s behind-the-scenes facial scanning video.

No complaints here as the five-time-five-time-five-time-five-time-FIVE-TIME WCW Champion has always been one of the more fun legends to use in these WWE video games.

Ilya Dragunov

Fans have been disappointed by the lack of NXT UK representation from various games but if the motion capture video from WWE2Kdev is anything to go by, it looks like Ilya Dragunov has made the in-game roster.

The video showcases a number of his moves, including the Torpedo Moscow and Russian Bottom.

A fine choice as he and Walter managed to have one of the most brutal singles matches in wrestling history, managing to get a five-star rating from Dave Meltzer.

Bronson Reed

NXT’s latest North American Champion also seems to be a lock for WWE 2K22 as his Death Drop Driver and Guillotine Driver were some of the moves getting motion captured in a bts video.

Dexter Lumis

Another NXT superstar, Lumis’ Monkey Flip, and Senton Bomb were captured in the aforementioned BTS video. Hopefully, this means Indi Hartwell is in the game as well so fans can finally have them together as a couple.

Candice LeRae

One half of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions and a member of The Way, it’s good to see Candice LeRae in the game.

Her finisher, the Wicked Stepsister, was one of the moves seen in the aforementioned BTS video.

Ruby Riott

She’s one of the few prominent tag team wrestlers in WWE’s women’s division, so seeing Ruby Riott return to WWE 2K22 is good and probably means we’ll see her Riott Squad partner Liv Morgan in the game as well.

Her unique Tornado DDT was one of the moves seen in the aforementioned BTS video.

Walter

The NXT UK Champion has been one of WWE’s most dominant superstars and the fact that we haven’t seen him in a WWE 2K game yet is criminal.

His Sambo Suplex was seemingly seen in the aforementioned BTS video so here’s hoping that Walter will finally make his video game debut in WWE 2K22.

Now, there are a number of obvious names we’ve glossed over like Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, Sasha Banks, and more. We’re 100% sure they will be in WWE 2K22 so don’t blow a gasket over us not listing them here.
