Potential End Of The Sepulcher Of The First Ones Leaked Hinting At The Jailer's Fate

Before we take a look at new information from the 9.2 PTR, this is the last spoiler warning, as the following information potentially has information resulting as the end of the Shadowlands story, before moving onto the next chapter of World of Warcraft.

It's no surprise that the players are facing off against the Jailer in the final encounter of the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid in Eternity's End, but many players expected a tough fight or even for the Jailer to win for the first time in raid boss history in WoW.

That is not the case as in a new Datamined dialog between Bolvar and the Primus, Bolvar says "The Jailer, he who tormented so many, who long ago set in motion the plague of undeath in our world, has finally been destroyed."

For many players, this is a letdown to see the Jailer just die, as the Jailer was meant to be a powerful being that rivaled the power of the titans.

Potential End Of The Sepulcher Of The First Ones Leaked Hinting At The Jailer's Fate

Now, it's not the first time players have defeated powerful beings beyond what should be obtainable, such as Argus and N'zoth, however Argus was only just born (into a physical body) as the players defeated him, and N'zoth wasn't a fan favorite either, with a lot of controversy surrounding his defeat.

This isn't the only storytelling that has been criticized during the patch, as players recently found quest text that hinted at all of the shadowlands and the fight against the Jailer being told by some prophecy and of course the players were the ones spoken about.

It will be interesting to see the future of World of Warcraft if Blizzard takes it down a more simple adventurer path or sends the players to some other new land in the next expansion.

There is also expected to be some sort of epilogue, which will tie up the story of the Shadowlands and lead into the next expansion, whatever that may be.
