Phase 2 Overlords of Outland officially launched yesterday which the big attraction to the first content update of the Burning Crusade being two new raids and two new Factions to gain reputation with for unique mounts and rewards.
Things did not go so smoothly, as the prerequisite quest "Our Boy Wants to be a Skyguard Ranger" is currently bugged preventing players from beginning their quest to farm Apexis crystals.
Blizzard is aware of the issue and has made changes to the item required for the quest, which many people believe players were abusing.
Our Boy Wants To Be A Skyguard Ranger Is Currently Bugged On The Burning Crusade Classic
The quest has players interact with the nearby Fel Crystalforge, which awards them with an Unstable Flask of the Beast. Players found that this flask was BoE and went to put them on the Auction House as the stats it gives make it very strong for Feral Druids in Gruul's Lair.
The quest is either completely bugged or Blizzard has disabled the ability to loot the flasks while they find a solution.
Flasks that were put on the Auction House now read as "Soulbound" and "Binds when picked up", meaning Blizzard has made changes.
Players are not happy that a simple bug has ruined to launch experience of some of the most anticipated reputations in TBC, but more importantly, there has been no communication from Blizzard as they try to fix the issue.
