World Of Warcraft Feast Of Winter Veil 2021 - Release Date
The Feast of Winter Veil will begin on the 16th of December 2021 and will run until the 2nd of January, giving players more than two weeks to complete this year's festivities.
Gift opening is not available until Christmas day, the 25th of December in each region, but will last until the event ends on the 2nd of January.
One of the most desired achievements to complete during the event is the Merrymaker world event which awards a title of the same name.
These achievements require players to complete a whole list of festive activities which is required for the meta-achievement, What a Long, Strange Trip it's Been, which is awarded by completing all holiday events.
Christmas Day Present Unwrapping
One of the activities to look forward to during the event is unwrapping all the goodies Greatfather Winter has left each year, which become available on Christmas Day up until the end of the event.
These presents each year are locked behind player levels, with the new unique yearly present awarded to max-level players.
Gifts can vary from small repeatable items to new and unique toys, here is a list of all presents:
- Carefully Wrapped Present
- Gently Shaken Present
- Festive Gift
- Winter Veil Gift (unique yearly gift)
- Gaily Wrapped Present
- Ticking Present
After each year the unique gift has ended, it will be added to the Stolen Present, which is awarded to players after completing the You're a Mean One... Daily Quest.
Items, Mounts, and More!
There are a lot of unique festive items awarded during the event from a whole range of different content.
Winter Revelers - blowing a /kiss to a Winter Reveler NPC will award players with either Mistletoe, Fresh Holly, or a Handful of Snowflakes, which are items used to complete achievements and perform unique festive actions.
Outside of Fresh Holly turning all mounts into Raindeers, the Minion of Grumpus is the only mount available through Winters Veil and can be obtained through doing daily quests inside of player garrisons and buying a Savage Gift from Izzy Hollyfizzle, also in player garrisons for 5 Merry Supplies.
New in 2020 was a Christmas-themed Pepe outfit, which all players can earn by clicking on Pepe located by the Tree in Ironforge and Orgrimmar.
The stolen present daily reward gives not only a chance at previous years' presents, but also a wide arrange of Toys, Pets, Weapon Illusions, and consumable items.
Previous expansion raids and dungeon bosses also get into the festive spirit, wearing Christmas-themed attire such as hats and decorations, but the only Shadowlands content with these hats as a drop was Devos, the final boss in the Spires of Ascension dungeon.
There are many patterns and recipes available from vendors throughout the event, which teach the players to create Christmas-themed items based on their professions.
A Feat of Strength achievement is also awarded to players who open the unique present each year.
What's new in 2021?
While nothing substantial was added to Winters Veil in 2020, the event ran shortly after the release of Shadowlands, which could be the reason behind no new content.
Blizzard tends to not share any new details behind new content for holiday events until the week of the event, so we will need to wait until December to see if anything new gets announced or data mined.
