Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown Will Receive Updates, Producer Says As He Thanks Fans For Recent Success

The PlayStation Plus version of Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown was released a few weeks ago. Personally, I love it and I am legit pretty good with many of the fighters, even if some of them are more unfair than others. (Looking at you, Sarah, quit kicking every two seconds!)

Senji Aoki, the Chief Producer, was thrilled with the game's success and popularity. He wanted to find a way to let everyone know how happy he was and what he hoped to accomplish for the game. This turned out better than we expected is always pleasant, but this seems to benefit fans greatly.

Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown will get updates!

A message from Chief Producer Seiji Aoki, thanking fans and discussing future plans, was released to commemorate the success of the rerelease. Despite not providing any specific figures, Aoki says that many people play the game worldwide. It has exceeded the developers' expectations that Virtual Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown has been a success.

Following are the translations of the following statements made by Chief Producer Seiji Aoki:

"It has been two weeks since the release on the PlayStation 4. We cannot disclose the figures, but we are thrilled to announce that a huge number of people aross the world are playing the game, much beyond the dev team's expectations. We are truly grateful — thank you!"

Aoki then discusses plans for future updates and adjustments. While Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown for the PlayStation 4 has new features and improvements, there are no balance adjustments.

The possibilities are undoubtedly exciting, even though we aren't told exactly what these future updates will consist of. After so many years, it may seem difficult to imagine balance adjustments, but it is possible.

A second passage translated from the words of Seiji Aoki, Chief Producer:

"We will continue to make updates, such as corrections, adjustments, function addition, with the purpose of delivering Virtua Fighter to as many people as possible. If you haven't played it yet, download before PS Plus Free Play ends of August 2. Thank you for your continued support for Virtua Fighter and Sega."
