The Witcher board game reaches over $2 million in just over 9 hours

In less than 20 minutes, a brand-new game based on The Witcher story has exceeded its funding goal on Kickstarter of $306,452. The Kickstarter campaign was for The CD Go On Board's new board game based on The Witcher game. Considering how much thought went into incentives, the creators definitely didn't expect to hit their goal this early.

Go On Board developed it, and according to their Kickstarter page:

"action-packed adventure board game, full of immersive choices and excitingly fresh mechanics"

Obviously, a Kickstarter campaign for The Witcher would be a big success. However, who could've imagined it would do this well. By the time of writing, it has reached over $2,306,151, with 18,600 backers, far surpassing its initial goal.

Go On Board wrote this in a community update:

"You did it! Your commitment is amazing, thank you so much for all your support! Together, we managed to fund the game The Witcher: Old World in 19 minutes. We can only say one thing: wow!"

Additionally, they gave updates on how they are doing toward their stretch goals. The fact that even their incentive program was short-term makes it clear that they never intended to go this far. In the tweet below, you can see that they offered incentives to backers that contributed within the first 24 hours, so everyone who backed the campaign has received an incentive.

With gorgeously crafted tokens for Witchers and monsters, the board game itself is incredible to look at.. Additionally, full games are usually between 90 and 150 minutes long. I am not really about the board game life, but I know many who are, so obviously, this is a great sell.
