While it's anticipated but not confirmed, the Logitech MX Master 4 is expected to follow soon, similar to the rumored Xbox Elite Controller 3. So, should you wait? If future-proofing your setup is a priority, it might be worth the patience.

Logitech MX Master 4 Release Date Predictions

While there's no official release date for the Logitech MX Master 4 yet, we can speculate based on past patterns. The MX Master 2 debuted in 2017, followed by the MX Master 3 in September 2019. Given this timeline, the MX Master 4 is overdue.

The challenges of 2021, including the surge in remote work, likely boosted sales of the MX Master 3, potentially delaying a new release. Perhaps it wasn't in their best interest to release a new mouse at this time, but we're only theorizing here - the big question is, when will it be released?

Predicting based on this, we anticipate the Logitech MX Master 4 could be launched as early as this year. However, just remember this is purely speculation on our behalf.

Logitech MX Master 4 specs predictions

So we don't know the features just yet, obviously, but based on the improvements from the MX Master 2 to the MX Master 3 we'd imagine that we'll get an even better wheel, more button mapping options, different colorways, and a new design that remains highly ergonomic.

The MX Master 3 ticks all the boxes, so it's hard to see exactly what they'd improve on from a technical perspective. Perhaps it will be more of a superficial change, which we'd be excited for regardless.

Logitech MX Master 4 price predictions

So this is the big one, what price tag are we looking at? Well, the MX Master 3 currently sits at around $120 right now and falls into the sales regularly too.

We'd predict that the Logitech MX Master 4 would be anywhere between $130 - $150 when it is released based on the MX 3.

So should you wait for it?

If you're looking to upgrade your current setup, we highly recommend going with the Logitech MX Master 3, and here's why.

First, we anticipate that the MX Master 4 will mainly feature aesthetic changes without significant functional improvements. While the design shift from the MX Master 2 to the MX Master 3 was substantial, the MX Master 3 remains a top performer even today.

Additionally, the MX Master 3 often goes on sale, especially during Black Friday and Prime Day. That's a great deal for a device that can dramatically enhance your daily workflow.

While our opinion may evolve once the MX Master 4 is revealed, for now, the MX Master 3, with its ultrafast scrolling, 4000 DPI tracking on any surface, and seven customizable buttons, is an excellent choice that won't disappoint.
