Update - June 11, 2021

As previously rumoured, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's just seen a surprise drop on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Launched with absolutely no fanfare from EA, existing owners on Xbox One and PS4 can redeem this as a free upgrade, though we still don't know what exactly's changed within this new edition.

Elsewhere, it's been reported that Jedi: Fallen Order's been removed from EA Play on PlayStation, meaning you can't upgrade that edition if you previously played through the subscription. However, Xbox users still have it within their libraries. It's a strange move and hopefully, EA will clarify what's happened soon.

Update - June 9, 2021

According to a new report by TheGamer, one of their sources has confirmed a June 11, 2021 release date for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's PS5 and Xbox Series X|S edition. Allegedly, UK retailers have already received physical copies and an announcement will be made on release day.

If true, it follows previous dates by retailers in Denmark and Germany, who originally listed it for June 11, while Brazilian retailers suggested a June 26 launch was planned. EA's still not offered any formal comment beyond a "Summer 2021" window, so we'll await further confirmation.

Original - May 24, 2021

As part of the Star Wars day celebrations several weeks back, we received word that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was getting a next-gen upgrade. Having launched in 2019 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, EA confirmed that a native port was arriving for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S this summer.

While we hadn't received anything more specific, several retailers may have just revealed EA's plans. As spotted by Xbox Era, certain Brazilian retailers Brazil have listed it with a June 26 release date. However, it soon gets confusing, as other retailers are offering a different June date.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's Next-Gen Update Could Launch This June

Across Denmark and Germany, we're instead seeing a release date of June 11. it's worth noting that Brazil's release times won't necessarily correspond with other regions, considering Mass Effect Legendary Edition launched several days after other countries.

Either way, it sounds like we don't have long to wait. Having previously had a performance boost through backwards compatibility, EA confirmed Fallen Order would benefit from "a number of technical improvements". Better yet, there's a free upgrade for existing console owners, and we'll keep you informed as we learn more.
