Stalker 2 On PS4 And Xbox One Would Be "Impossible To Run", PS5 Release Not Planned

GSC Game World has provided an update on Stalker 2 in a new interview, saying the game isn't possible on PS4 or Xbox One due to technical constraints.

The interview in question comes from GamingBolt, where Zakhar Bocharov, GSC Game World's PR Manager stated that the game would be "impossible to run it [Stalker 2] on Xbox One and PS4." When asked if this was due to Hardware limitations, Bocharov responded with "exactly".

Another article from GamingBolt's interview has the team reiterating that there are no plans for a PS5 version of the game right now. In the statement, GSC Game World also say that they "negotiated the possibilities with Microsoft and saw several good opportunities for the brand - including Game Pass".

It is worth noting that many developers have said this in the past, with their games ending up on the opposite console eventually, whether it released on PS4 or Xbox One first. So, although they aren't focused on it right now, Stalker 2 might end up on PS5 in the future.

If you haven't been keeping up with Stalker 2 news, the game is the sequel to the cult classic Stalker and is set to launch straight into Xbox Game Pass on PC and console when it releases. You can catch up on all the information we know about Stalker 2 here.

Much like the previous game, Stalker 2 takes place in the irradiated wasteland of Chernobyl and places you in the shoes of Skif, a lone stalker traversing the wasteland.
