Skyrim Modder Adds Immersive Lap Sitting

The people of Skyrim live hard lives, with comfort being a luxury generally reserved for the richest of city-dwellers and the labourers that form the lifeblood of the province often being relegated to harsh surroundings without much give.

It’s clear that this isn’t right, but in the absence of a non-Stormcloak revolution to reverse the fortunes of the province’s most downtrodden citizens, perhaps the best they can hope for is to rely on each other for a little support.

Thankfully, a new mod should help with that, just not in the manner you might expect.

It’s June, But Skyrim Modders Are Already Apparently Thinking About Christmas

The mod in question is “Immersive Lap Sitting” by controversially named modder hanshotfirst01, who seems not to care that Santa isn’t due for about half a year.

Naturally, the mod allows exactly what it suggests, with Skyrim’s people now being able to appropriate a comfy knee whenever they feel it’s appropriate, though the whispering of festive gift ideas is also strictly optional.

As the player character, you can instigate this by sitting down and asking an NPC to perch themselves on top of you in an entirely PG manner, which they will provided you haven’t wronged them in some way previously.

On the other hand, you can also walk up to sitting NPCs and ask to sit on their lap, which may also be declined if you’re not in their good books.

The latter option also has the fun quirk of seeing if the NPC will randomly get up and leave you hanging in mid-air at some point, which does happen apparently.

The mod does have some clipping issues as you might expect, but realistically this is probably a good thing, to ensure that you don’t start to confuse Skyrim for reality.

It also isn’t designed to be inappropriate in any way, with hanshotfirst01 saying: “I don’t feel like it’s inherently sexual to sit on someone's lap.”
