Resident Evil 3 Remake Sells Five Million Copies Worldwide

Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 Remake has reached a new milestone, selling over five million copies worldwide. Confirmed by the official Japanese Resident Evil Twitter account, Capcom thanked fans for their continued support of the Resident Evil franchise.

Launching a year after the acclaimed Resident Evil 2 remake, 3 Remake didn’t get the same love as its predecessor, due to the short length and lack of replayability beyond its Resident Evil: Resistance multiplayer. Despite this, the game continues selling well and has even outsold the original Resident Evil 3, according to Siliconera.

Resident Evil 3 Remake Sells Five Million Copies Worldwide

While Resident Evil 3 Remake is another sales success for Capcom, it’s worth noting the game has been surpassed by Resident Evil 7, which sold over 10 million copies. Furthermore, last year’s Resident Evil Village hit 5.7 million copies. It's clear proof that even now, Capcom's survival horror franchise remains a hit.

Resident Evil 3 Remake is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can also pick up the latest entry, Resident Evil Village, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
