Pokemon Sword and Shield: March 2021 Max Raid Battle Pokemon

Pokemon Sword and Shield are still as popular as ever, and the folks at Game Freak celebrated the franchise's 25th anniversary at the end of February.

Now that we're in March, the two latest entries are about to get a new selection of Max Raid Pokemon to challenge, defeat, and catch.

Here's everything you need to know.

What Are Max Raid Battles?

Max Raid battles are tough Pokemon battles against Gigantamaxed enemies.

You'll find them in the Wild Area, dented by a red light coming from a Pokemon den.

Battles require four players, but you can opt for AI teammates if you'd prefer.

New Pokemon

Each month, Game Freak adds and removes certain Pokemon to their Max Raid rotation.

This month, players can expect to find the following Pokemon within their battles:

  • Hatenna
  • Ralts
  • Koffing
  • Rookidee
  • Rufflet
  • Cramorant

This was reported via Serebii.net, and players will be able to check out these Pokemon for the duration of the month.

Will you be jumping back in to try your luck?

Sword and Shield has grown since its launch in 2019, but Pokefans will no doubt be looking to the future.

With Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, we'll see the Sinnoh region remade, while the new Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a full action-RPG.
