Nintendo confirmed earlier today that the 3DS and Wii U eShops are closing and in response, The Pokémon Company has announced they'll make Pokémon Bank free for use. Previously a paid service, players could store their 3DS Pokémon and transfer them to other games, with recent additions bringing them to Pokémon Home on Switch.

Any fan who downloads the Pokémon Bank app before March 2023 can use the service for free, though transferring 3DS Pokémon to Pokémon Home still needs payment. Home requires a paid tier to transfer these critters from the Pokémon Bank app.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is now available on Nintendo Switch and that'll be getting Pokémon Home support soon. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are also expected to get Pokémon Home support. We'll keep you informed as we learn more.
