Pokemon GO: How To Catch Galarian Weezing

Galarian Weezing was one of the first Galarian Pokemon to arrive in Pokemon GO, and players have yet another chance to catch it.

Though players may see the Pokemon appear more frequently for the next week, Galarian Weezing is not a new addition to the game. In late 2019, Galarian Weezing was added to Pokemon GO as part of a promotion with the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Since then, Galarian Weezing has come and gone for players to defeat and catch. Raids have typically been the way to catch a Galarian Weezing, and it has returned in three-star raids for the Luminous Legends Y event. That means players will have until the end of May to defeat and catch a Galarian Weezing for themselves before the Pokemon is rotated out again.

Counters for Galarian Weezing in Pokemon GO

Galarian Weezing is part of a three-star raid, and therefore is not as difficult as a Legendary Pokemon raid. However, if players are attempting the raid by themselves, then having the right counters will make a difference.

As a dual-type Fairy and Poison Pokemon, Galarian Weezing has a fairly unique set of counters when compared to other Pokemon. Its weaknesses include Steel-type, Psychic-type, and Ground-type Pokemon.

Five Galarian Weezing counters

  • Mewtwo - Confusion (Fast Attack) + Psystrike (Charge Attack)
  • Jirachi - Confusion (Fast Attack) + Doom Desire (Charge Attack)
  • Metagross - Bullet Punch (Fast Attack) + Meteor Mash (Charge Attack)
  • Rhyperior - Mud Slap (Fast Attack) + Earthquake (Charge Attack)
  • Espeon - Confusion (Fast Attack) + Psychic (Charge Attack)

Having a second player will certainly speed the process up, but if players are a fairly high level and they use efficient counters, Galarian Weezing will be theirs in Pokemon GO.
