How Do I Get Galarian Moltres in Pokemon GO?

Catching Galarian Moltres in Pokemon GO isn't as simple as you may expect. While most legendaries can be caught through Raid battles, you can only get Galarian Moltres in the wild - which is a first for legendary Pokemon.

It's all down to luck, though - both with the spawn and the catch. You'll also need to equip a specific item before even attempting to find Galarian Moltres, so don't think you'll go adding it to your collection right after reading this.

How to Get Galarian Moltres to Spawn in Pokemon GO

The Daily Adventure Incense introduced fairly recently is your ticket to a Galarian Moltres.

As the name suggests, you only get one a day, and they last for 15 minutes instead of the usual 30 with other Incenses. Therefore, you'll need to hope and pray that within that small window, you manage to come across Galarian Moltres.

If you do, the process will be fairly familiar. Tap it once you see it in the wild, and start chucking berries and Pokéballs in an attempt to catch it.

These legendaries are renowned for being stubborn, so they could be quite hard to catch. Rinse and repeat the process, and remember that you can always try again on another day if it flees.

Pokemon GO Galarian Moltres Spawn Rates

  • Spawn Rate: Unknown
  • Catch Rate: Around three percent
  • Flee Rate: Around 90 percent (after a failed catch attempt)

There's no concrete information regarding how common or rare Galarian Moltres is in Pokemon GO just yet, and it'll likely be a while before teams like Silph Road gather the data necessary to say what they might be.

Simply put, though, you'll need to get lucky with both having Galarain Moltres spawn, and managing to catch it with its abysmally low catch rate before its high flee rate has you starting back at square one again.

What Type is Galarian Moltres?

As with the regular Moltres, this Galarian version is a Fire- and Flying-type Pokémon. If you're using it inbattle, expect lethal CP levels due to its rare nature.

One thing you won't need to worry too much about is counters for Galarian Moltres. Unlike most other legendary Pokémon, Galarian Moltres appears in the wild rather than raids. As such, you won't need to configure a team to sap its HP in the midst of battle.

How Long Will Galarian Moltres Remain in Pokémon GO?

At the moment, it's unclear how long Galarian Moltres will remain in the wild in Pokémon GO.

We anticipate it'll remain around alongside Zapdos and Articuno for a few weeks at least. That gives even the more casual Pokémon GO players plenty of time to use the Daily Adventure Incense to grab this legendary.
