When Is the Pokémon GO Community Day August 2022 Start Time?
Pokémon GO Community Day August 2022 will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2022.
The event won't last for the entire day, instead taking place in a two-hour period dependent on your time zone.
As with all the other Community Days in Pokémon GO, it'll consist of a limited-time spotlight for a specific Pokémon. That's in addition to boosted chances of catching a shiny, as well as some limited research to complete for even more rewards.
What Is The Pokémon GO Community Day August 2022 Spotlight Pokémon?
Revealed on July 19 shortly after that month's Community Day event, we now know that Galarian Zigzagoon is the Pokémon you'll be seeing a whole lot of on the day.
It might sound a tad boring being another early critter like Starly from last month, Galarian Zigzagoon can turn into the surprisingly powerful Obstagoon in the right hands. This Dark-type menace packs a punch, and with any evolved Galarian Zigzagoon automatically learning the Charged Attack 'Obstruct', it's worth having.
What Does Obstruct Do in Pokémon GO?
Here's why the Community Day August 2022 move is so good. In a trainer battle (so PVP or a Rocket boss like Arlo), Obstruct hits with 15 power but increases Obstagoon's Defense and lowers the same stat for its target. That's a big deal.
In areas where stat differences don't really apply (like gyms and raids) Obstruct becomes a 20 power move.
