What Is Mean Look

Gengar is learning a new move, Mean Look, via the Move Relearner in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Mean Look is a normal-type move in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl with the following effect: 'The user pins the target with a dark, arresting look. The target becomes unable to flee.'

After using Mean Look on an opposing Pokémon, they are unable to flee the battle. This is particularly useful for catching illusive wild Pokémon, for example, when venturing in the Safari Zone or when trying to catch legendary Pokémon, Mesprit.
