During your play through of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you'll soon want to fill out your Pokédex to be able to encounter more Pokémon. One Pokémon, who has rather specific conditions in order to be encountered, is Drifloon.
In this guide, we explain where to find Drifloon, as well as its strengths and weaknesses as a Pokémon.
Where To Find Drifloon
To be able to encounter and catch Drifloon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you must have obtained your first gym badge from Oreburgh City Gym. You also need to have battled with Team Galactic at Valley Windworks, which is to the left of Floaroma Town.
Then, on a Friday only, you'll be able to find Drifloon floating outside of Valley Windworks each week. When you first catch them, they'll be Level 22 and will evolve into Drifblim at Level 28. The only other way to encounter Drifloon is in Hearthome City Gym, if you get one of the questions wrong and end up battling with Trainers.
Drifloon Strengths and Weaknesses
Drifloon is a ghost and flying type Pokémon. This makes them weak to dark, ghost, ice, rock, and electric type moves. You can learn more about Pokémon type weakness on our type-chart.
If you're early on in your game and Drifloon is a higher level than you, it's best to try to counter them using a Geodude or Pachirisu if you have caught one. On the other hand, if you're catching them a little later on and are of a higher level than Drifloon, a Pokéball will almost instantly do the trick.
That's all you need to know about getting Drifloon added to your Pokédex or your party. If you're close to completing the Sinnoh Pokédex, check out how to go about unlocking the National Pokédex next, as well as legendary Pokémon.
