As you play Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you'll be required to defeat eight gym leaders before then beating the Elite Four and Sinnoh Champion. Following this, you can then go ahead and rematch everyone too for extra EXP, money, and fun. The first of the eight gym leaders is Roark of Oreburgh City, a master of rock-types.
In this guide, we explain how to beat Roark of Oreburgh City Gym, and how to later beat him in a rematch.
How To Beat Oreburgh City Gym and Roark
After finding Roark in the mines of Oreburgh City, he will return to the gym and be ready to battle with you. Luckily, he's rather easy to counter, provided that all your party of Pokémon are of Level 10 or higher.
Here are the three Pokémon he throws at you, their type, approximate level, and weaknesses:
|Geodude||Rock||12||Water, Grass, Ground, Steel, Fighting, Ice|
|Onix||Rock||12||Water, Grass, Ground, Steel, Fighting, Ice|
|Cranidos||Rock||14||Water, Grass, Ground, Steel, Fighting|
How To Rematch Oreburgh City Gym and Roark
After defeating the Elite Four and Cynthia in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you'll be crowned the Sinnoh Champion. You will then be able to return to each gym across the Sinnoh Region and rematch all leaders.
Here is Roark's second party of Pokémon that you'll need to prepare for:
|Relicanth||Rock||64||Ground, Grass, Fighting, Electric|
|Aerodactyl||Flying, Rock||66||Rock, Water, Steel, Ice, Electric|
|Tyranitar||Rock, Dark||68||Ground, Grass, Bug, Water, Steel, Fighting, Fairy|
|Probopass||Rock, Bug||68||Ground, Water, Fighting|
|Armaldo||Rock, Bug||70||Rock, Water, Steel|
