There are a few different items that will help you discover them such as Spirit Boxes, Ghost Writing Books, Camera's and EMF Readers - just to name a few. You can use these materials to gather evidence, and ultimately get you money and XP!

Whilst looking for the ghost, your sanity will drop and you'll become an easier target. But no need to fear! You can use items such as the Crucifix to protect yourself, so here's how to use it.

How to Use the Crucifix in Phasmophobia?

The Crucifix can be used in Phasmophobia to stop a ghost from entering the hunting phase.

To do so, you'll have to locate which room the ghost is based in, and then place the Crucifix on the floor. You have to do this before the ghost is angered or in its hunting phase. If you place the Crucifix during or after their tantrum, it will essentially be useless.

Also bear in mind that the item only has a range of three meters. So, larger rooms may need multiple Crucifixes to prevent the ghost from hunting.

You also need to note that the Crucifix does not affect some ghost types... so, it still doesn't mean you're completely safe from being hunted!

Misconceptions When Using the Crucifix

Many players think holding the Crucifix up to the ghost once it's in the hunting phase will stop it. But they are wrong. This does not cancel the hunting phase and if anything, you're going to get taken alive by the ghost for risking it.

Next thing you know, your friends will hear your blood-curdling screams.
