Persona Composer Shoji Meguro Leaves Atlus For Indie Project

Persona music director Shoji Meguro has confirmed his departure from Atlus. Best known for working on Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, Meguro confirms that he'll be working on more independent titles moving forward.

As seen on Atlus' official website, Meguro confirmed he'll be pursuing his independent projects as Megarock. Prior to leaving, Meguro worked for Atlus ever since the first Persona title back in 1996, composing for follow-up entries and numerous Shin Megami Tensei titles until the last console generation.

Meguro is commonly cited as a key force behind Atlus' memorable soundtracks, making these games more fun to explore.. So far, Shoji Meguro, Atsushi Kitajoh, and the whole in-house Atlus development team have produced great tracks for most of their titles. As seen on Shoji Meguro's official Twitter, he's revealing this upcoming game on November 6 during Indie Live Expo.

Right now, Atlus has plans for upcoming Persona projects. In the Persona 25th anniversary website, Atlus still has five more Persona projects to reveal, with one scheduled for December. Meguro confirmed that he'll still work for Atlus on some unspecified games, which could potentially relate to these projects.
