Two of the most competitive games around are set to meet in the ring this month. Legendary mobile mashup The King of Fighters All Star will welcome the girls of Dead or Alive 6 later this month, bolstering its already staggeringly high character roster that's previously enjoyed its fair share of collaborations between other classic fighting game series.
As part of the game's three-year anniversary on July 29, Honoka, Kasumi, Marie Rose, and Nyotengu will make their King of Fighters All Star debut.
Honoka and Marie Rose will even be offered as free unlocks just for getting involved and completing a few in-game missions. As for how you'll be able to unlock Kasumi and Nyotengu, that's less clear, but it's expected to be through the in-game gacha system.
The reason for that boils down to a generous premium currency offer that's set to get the DoA party started. Anyone who pre-registers ahead of the July 29 summer update will net a coupon that can be redeemed for 3,000 rubies once it goes live.
It's not quite the 10,000 gem log-in event that coincided with the return of some Boss Syndrome characters a few months back, but there's still time for the finer details of the DoA x KoF AS collab event to be revealed.
Not neglecting Dead or Alive's extensive (and expensive) costume collection and Xtreme sports spin-offs, swimsuit versions of each new character will drop alongside their default versions. At launch, the following alternate characters will be available:
- Angel of Paradise Honoka
- Angel of Paradise Kasumi
- Angel of Paradise Marie Rose
- Angel of Paradise Nyotengu
This latest King of Fighters All Star collaboration is far from the first to hit the game since its launch back in 2019. Since its release, Tekken 7, Samurai Shodown, Seven Knights, and even The Seven Deadly Sins anime series have all been represented in Netmarble's take on the classic SNK IP.
To see what else Netmarble has up its sleeve, you only need to check out the upcoming release of Marvel Future Revolution.
