Nintendo Switch has always lacked an achievement/trophy style system like rival platforms hold, though the Online service is changing that. Adding a new achievement-style Missions and Rewards feature that allows players to unlock images for avatar customization.
March's themes are based around Super Mario Odyssey and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, with plans to switch them out every month for another franchise. Players with NSO membership just need to press the red icon on the home menu, as confirmed by Nintendo.

Nintendo Switch Online Adds Achievement-Like Missions
Anyone who completes these Missions are rewarded with Platinum Points, which then purchase those icons. Missions aren’t that complicated either, ranging from playing Super Mario Bros. on the NES online service and logging into the service weekly. If anything, it encourage players to try out these online functions more.
The Nintendo Switch Online Missions and Rewards feature is available now. Players with the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack can also play The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask as part of the N64 online service, which went live last week. We'll keep you informed as we hear more.
