Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl: Patrick Star Movelist Breakdown, First Grappler In Game Confirmed

Following up with the moveset breakdowns, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl developers have recently revealed more details about Patrick Star's gameplay in this fighting game. Patrick's attacks can be slow and risky but can pack a serious wallop. Here's what this starfish can do in this platform fighter.

Patrick Star Movelist Showcase

As seen on Patrick Star's gameplay overview video, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl developer representative Thaddeus Crews have introduced Patrick's moves in this short video. Each of his 17 moves were discussed and featured the applications of his attacks.

So far, Patrick's attacks are mostly short-ranged with a few them of them seldom reaching far targets. If he does reach far targets, Patrick often repositions himself with a lunging attack throwing his hands on his foes.

Patrick Star Is A Grappler

As confirmed by Crews, Patrick Star will be a grappler character in this game. So far, Patrick's I'm Already A Star and Hugdriver attacks will be his signature command throws as a grappler. In fighting games, grapplers are slow heavy hitters that are rewarded well if they can land their command throw on their foes up close.

The I'm Already A Star attack is a lunging command throw where Patrick flies toward a direction and squeezes any target he catches on the way. This move doubles up as a mobility tool as Patrick's flight can be aimed at different direction to move around the stage.

Lastly, the Hugdriver is a short-ranged command throw where Patrick dunks his foes on the floor if it lands. However, Patrick will continue slamming people down even as deep as the blastzone if Hugdriver fails to find a floor to collide to.

Who's Next

After the Patrick Star gameplay breakdown reveal, the developers have finally finished revealing the movesets of the Spongebob Squarepants characters. If the breakdowns follow the same pattern as the moveset reveals on the game's official Twitter, the next character for the reveal could be for Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
