  • Gaming insider Shpeshal Nick claims classic Xbox 360 JRPGs are planned for the Xbox Games Showcase
  • This could mean modern remasters that are readily available on PC and other modern platforms
  • Fans want to play Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey on other systems

A gaming insider has claimed that classic Xbox 360 JRPGs could be a part of next month’s Xbox Games Showcase. Some of these games are already available through the Xbox Series system’s backward-compatibility, but this could also mean re-releases on more modern systems like Steam and Epic Games.

On Twitter, Shpeshal Nick claims that next month’s Showcase is going to make 360 JRPG fans very happy, which quickly garnered plenty of attention from fans. While fans should take this bit of news with a grain of salt, we can’t deny that having easier access to these classic titles would be great for everyone.

Games like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey were solid games on Xbox 360, so the fact that they are readily available on Xbox One or Xbox Series is great. However, fans have been begging for ports of these games on other systems and we might finally get that if this leak is true.

When the Xbox 360 was announced, Microsoft made a big push to try and win over the Japanese market, as their consoles don’t sell well in that side of the world. It’s why the company was able to secure exclusive JRPGs like the aforementioned Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, alongside Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean: The Last Hope, though the latter did come to PS3.

It will be interesting to see if Microsoft will bring these games to other consoles, much like they did with Hi-Fi Rush and Grounded, but we’ll wait for that announcement. Still, there is an audience who wants to play Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey on their PCs, so we hope that happens.

Right now, the only official game getting announced in next month’s Xbox Games Showcase is a new Call of Duty entry. There are also reports claiming that this new entry in the long-running series is coming to Game Pass at day one. Fans will be able to check out the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9.
