Top Pokémon GO player gets their account hacked, considers quitting the game altogether

A top Pokémon GO player had their account hacked and, unfortunately, deleted, removing their many years of progress within the mobile game. While Niantic is working hard to bring the player’s account back, the damage is done and this player could end up quitting this title.

FleeceKing is the GO player who had their account hacked, with fans in the community knowing him as the first player to reach Level 50 in this game. Unfortunately, it seems that’s a record he is going to have to keep in his memory, as the hack has led to his account’s deletion.

The top Pokémon GO player was heartbroken by this news, claiming that they never shared their account details with anyone on Twitter. It was also painful for the player, as the hacker shared videos where they deleted a ton of this player’s Pokémon. While fans did criticize the hacker for doing this, that won’t do much now that this account has been deleted.

Niantic is attempting to bring this account back, but FleeceKing has said that they might not continue playing anymore. Getting your personal information hacked is a pretty traumatic experience so we can’t blame the player if they decide to abandon this game. Hopefully, they didn’t have their other information hacked, with the recent Insomniac Games hack showing how dangerous that can be.

It is good to know that Niantic is attempting to get this account back, especially since Pokémon GO has been criticized for many years. The company recently tried to lowball players by posting a fake deal, pretending a bundle of microtransactions was discounted. Fans also don’t like the focus on pay-to-win events, though the company still has several normal events they can take part in.
