Pokémon GO has announced a collaboration event with Pokémon Horizons, the franchise’s newest anime. This doesn’t appear to be related with the upcoming World of Wonders event, though there are a couple of surprising Pokémon being added to the mobile game.

As part of the collaboration event, Captain Pikachu will be coming to the game. For those unaware, this is just a Pikachu wearing some kind of sailor hat, though it’s still a very cute critter. While there are a dozen of these hat-wearing Pikachu in the game, this one includes a move that hasn’t been in GO yet: Volt Tackle.

Fans worried that they’re just getting a new Pikachu from this Pokémon GO event need not worry, as some Scarlet and Violet Pokémon are being added as well. Charcadet, another prominent Pokémon from the Horizons anime, will be brought to the game as well and they can evolve into Ceruledge or Armarouge.

Since this event is related to the Horizons anime, fans can also expect to see other Pokémon from the anime pop in the wild. The starters from Scarlet and Violet, Fuecoco, Sprigatito, and Quaxly, are part of that group alongside monsters like Scyther and Pawmi. If you’ve been dying to get these Pokémon in GO again, this new event is your chance.

The Pokémon GO x Pokémon Horizons event was announced during the most recent Pokémon Presents. Oddly enough, we did not get an update on the upcoming World of Wonders event, which was just announced. Niantic might be spacing these events out, especially since Horizons is finally coming to Netflix worldwide, so fans should expect more details soon.

Niantic’s Pokémon Horizon event will be taking place next Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, March 11, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time. In addition to all these Pokémon, fans might also encounter various characters from the anime, which should make things more lively.
