Warner Bros announced the closed alpha test for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and sign-up is now available for players prior to the game’s launch early next year. After a history of controversy, the live-service co-op game finally lets gamers play before release.

The alpha test is scheduled from November 30 at 6 am PT/9 am ET/12 pm BST to December 4, at 12 am PT/3 am ET/8 am BST, and will be available on PS5, X/S, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. The closed alpha will evaluate the game’s online infrastructure, allowing players to experience the four-player co-op shooter and provide valuable feedback before the official release.

To participate in the closed alpha, players must register with a Warner account and agree to a non-disclosure agreement to participate. Warner Bros stated that the alpha represents only a specific campaign section and may not fully reflect the final gaming experience. However, it provides a unique opportunity for selected players to explore the world of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League before its official launch.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was initially expected to launch in 2022. However, it faced a huge delay and was rescheduled to release on February 2, 2024; the extended development time addressed concerns raised by the gaming community, particularly regarding the extensive live-service elements showcased in a February 2023 PlayStation State of Play event. The negative response prompted developers to reevaluate and refine the game to polish the version of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

As the sign-up opens, eager fans who anticipate the Suicide Squad franchise can get a chance to play the game earlier. The closed alpha news is followed by a recent trailer release highlighting the iconic Harley Quinn, a character beloved by DC enthusiasts since her debut in Batman: The Animated Series in 1992. The trailer showcases Harley's chaotic combat skills, featuring her signature baseball bat, firearms, and even Batman's technology, including a bat-shaped attack drone.

Although the delays may have disappointed some fans, the additional development time allocated to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League shows a commitment to deliver a top-notch gaming experience. Whether the closed alpha will relieve concerns and generate excitement among players remains to be seen. Still, the countdown to February 2, 2024, is on, with Suicide Squad enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the chance to join the infamous squad on their mission to eliminate the Justice League.
