Modern Warfare 3 players believe AI-controlled bots are starting to appear in multiplayer matches.

The topic of SBMM in Modern Warfare 3 often generates plenty of conversation and with Season 1 moving into view, there are many who believe Activision and Sledgehammer Games have implemented AI to ensure lobbies are full.

With millions of players loading into their favourite maps and game modes at any one time, the thought of AI appearing in matches is surprising. Despite the lack of official confirmation, fans think that there are numerous bots hiding in plain sight throughout a match.

According to Call of Duty content creator ModernWarzone, players are reportedly finding AI in matches.

Despite the reports, many believe the aggressive SBMM means there are no bots in multiplayer. One fan says: "Unfounded. People mostly don't give a crap about playing objectives." Another adds: "People say this but there aren't clips."

On the other hand, there are those playing Ground War uncovering players acting strangely leading to claims AI is taking control. YouTuber NerosCinema uploaded a video of several "bots" playing Modern Warfare 3 matches.

Based on the clips within the video above, it's easy to see why many think Modern Warfare 3 contains AI soldiers. Shooting down killstreaks and then wandering around the map carrying a Sentry Gun is definitely a strange way to play.

One player believes AI has featured in Call of Duty for several years. "It's been in the game since Vanguard," claims the player. It's unclear if AI has ever featured in Call of Duty multiplayer but seeing the strange goings on captured by others, perhaps there is some substance to the rumours.

Until Activision and Sledgehammer Games comment on the situation, expect the matchmaking algorithm to be the cause of the diverse skill levels of some players. AI has previously featured in Warzone, but it was quickly removed due to player backlash. It would be strange if the developers have decided to add it into multiplayer when it's based on PvP action.
