Toho’s iconic metaphor for the dangers of nuclear war has been transformed into a cute voxel creature in an all-new Godzilla Minecraft collaboration.

Developed by Japanese studio Team KYO alongside Impress, the new Minecraft Godzilla DLC brings the King of the Monsters into the most popular game of all time. Following on from the awesome new Minecraft Star Wars DLC and the incredible Jurassic World pack, this might be Minecraft’s best DLC yet.

The new DLC includes four missions based on different films from across Godzilla’s 70 year history. One mission sees you on the street level, running away from an attacking Godzilla, finding resources and even saving other people, if you want.

Another mission even sees you playing as Godzilla while you battle his fiercest enemies. You’ll be able to scrap against the almighty Kong of Skull Island and even the monster’s most iconic enemy: King Ghidorah. Hell, even Jet Jaguar makes an appearance, but no Baby Rider.

The Minecraft Godzilla DLC even includes a museum filled with collectibles you can unlock. Set inside a Monarch base from the recent Monsterverse movies, you can look at blocky models of everything from Shin Godzilla’s horrifying first form to the stunning Kiryu MechaGodzilla.

After the stunning Godzilla Minus One, this Minecraft Godzilla DLC is yet another brilliant celebration of one of the best characters in film history. Despite being a Minecraft crossover, it’s filled with love for the Toho movie franchise with references to seven decades of films, TV shows and more.

Whether you’re exploring the Monarch facility, running away from Shin Godzilla or battling creatures in an awesome-looking fighting game mode, this DLC is a must-have for Godzilla fans.

Minecraft players have also taken very kindly to the new DLC, praising the detail of its new additions. The new DLC’s impressive new mechanics have caused many to liken it to some of the best Minecraft mods from the game’s glory days.

“Why does this look like a mod from the OG days of Minecraft! I’m so excited!” said one fan. “These DLCs are getting too wild,” said another.

The Minecraft Godzilla DLC is out right now for the game’s Bedrock Edition. You can get it on PC, console or mobile.
