Final Fantasy VII Rebirth hype is at an all-time high, so to capitalize on that we have a Donbei Udon commercial where Furry Sephiroth wants Cloud to eat noodles. None of that is a joke, as this commercial has gone viral online and is driving fans crazy over how silly the entire 30-second video is.

Shared on Twitter by Aitai Kimochi, who also provided subtitles for the commercial, we see a Sephiroth with fox ears haunt Cloud as he does in Remake. However, instead of making him relive his trauma and embrace his hatred, Sephiroth now wants Cloud to eat some Donbei Udon noodles.

There are a lot of things that make this Final Fantasy VII Rebirth collaboration all sorts of odd. Witnessing an official commercial where Sephiroth has fox ears and a tail is weird enough, as are the reused scenes from Remake. One thing that quickly got everyone’s attention was Sephiroth calling Cloud a “good boy” after slurping up some noodles, which is quickly going to inspire many a fanfiction.

Gamers can take Final Fantasy VII a little too seriously sometimes, so seeing this commercial treat the franchise’s biggest villain like a weirdo is refreshing. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the Final Fantasy games have always been a bit silly and this entry is no exception.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming out on PlayStation 5 fairly soon and Square Enix has done everything in its power to get fans hyped up for it. While the critic reviews should be enough to get fans curious, the company also released a ton of footage to show them what to expect. Of course, some of this footage showed Tifa in a bikini and that quickly became a hot topic on the worldwide web.
