NBA 2K21 Update Today (May 20): Latest changes to PS4 and Xbox

NBA 2K21 just released a brand new patch on PS4 and Xbox One, and it's a pretty sizeable one for basketball fans to download.

Based on reports the new update is roughly 20-28gb in size on PS4 and Xbox consoles.

At the time of writing, though, 2K is yet to fill us in on exactly what the patch contains.

While these kinds of patches are pretty commonplace for the NBA 2K franchise, they're usually accompanied by the usual Courtside Report blog posts which detail changes – which usually run from gameplay tweaks, to player rating changes, to updated player faces.

Although, these courtside reports are normally posted a good few hours after the update has actually gone live.

At present, though, we'll have to wait and find out exactly what's included.

NBA 2K21 Update 1.11 Patch Notes

So far, the courtside report hasn't gone live and there's no word from Mike Wang, Gameplay Director for NBA 2K.

As far as we can tell, the update is solely for last-gen platforms as NBA 2K is a separate product on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X.

In any case, you'd best get to downloading asap. We'll update this page as soon as we have some solid patch notes from 2K, or if the community spots any significant changes; but with the update only minutes old, there's nothing standing out just yet.

Wondering whether NBA 2K21 on next-gen is worth the upgrade? We've got you covered. In our review, we said:

"NBA 2K21 on next-gen consoles is immeasurably better than its current-gen counterpart. Offering improved visuals is one thing, but when the gameplay is such a step up as well, it's hard to go back."

"If 2K could rein in its microtransactions, the game would be an all-time hall of famer."
