CDL 2020: OpTic Gaming Los Angeles Team Profile For Call of Duty League 2020

OpTic Gaming Los Angeles is one of the most peculiar franchises heading into the inaugural CDL season. The once loved organization has fallen from grace and is now considered by many to be one of the most disliked teams in the CDL.

However, this does not mean their Call of Duty roster is going to slump as well. With a roster built off the dynamic duo that took over the world last season, along with more star-studded veterans, could OGXLA win it all this year?

Dashy and TJ: Dynamic Duo

Flashing back to the Call of Duty Blacks Ops 4 season during CWL Las Vegas, this was the first time we truly witnessed the dynamic duo that was in the works. Brandon "Dashy" Otell and Thomas "TJHaLy" Haly have risen to the upper ranks of competitive Call of Duty in their short yet eventful careers.

Dashy is considered by many to be one of the best players in the world, we all saw his outrageous plays last season. His unheard of Search and Destroy K/D and his sheer presence of the map struck fear in the eyes of many teams last year. As for TJHaly, another year of consistency which was also fueled by his regular clutch plays which warranted him the nickname "Ice Man". As one of the most dynamic pairings in the league will these two be able to translate their success over to another year?

Kenny and Slasher: From Thieves to OG

100 Thieves has risen to become one of the most popular and promising esports organizations in the world. Part of this success can be contributed to the success of their Call of Duty team last season, winning two major events last year along with a second-place finish at the Call of Duty World Championships.

Two key players of this lineup were Austin "SlasheR" Liddicoat and Kenny "Kenny" Williams, the latter was among one of the most criticized players early in the season but rapidly turned it around to prove all of his doubters wrong. SlasheR, on the other hand, has been one of the top three AR players in all of Call of Duty esports for the majority of the last two years now. What kind of Kenny will we see this year for OGXLA, is perhaps the biggest question we can gather from these two. For SlasheR, it will be interesting to see the dynamic between him and Dashy on this roster, will the two clash personalities?

JKap: The Wildcard

Rounding out this OGXLA roster is Jordon "Jkap" Kaplan, the seasoned veteran of the game is one of the founding fathers of competitive Call of Duty competing since its earliest days. A turbulent Black Ops 4 season saw Jkap bounce between eUnited and EG throughout the year where he experienced an up and down year.

One of the biggest grips of Jkap over the last year has been his K/D, especially on LAN. It is perhaps the biggest x-factor of this roster, should Jkap recover to his classic form he will fill the leadership and AR role that would complete this team perfectly.
