MW2 Campaign Remastered: Ending - "End Game" Final Mission

The ending to Modern Warfare 2 is one of the most iconic in the Call of Duty franchise and the wider video gaming world - it's even more incredible in its revamped state during MW2 Campaign Remastered.

So what happens in the ending of MW2?

MW2 Campaign Remastered Ending

After an unexpected twist where General Shepherd betrays the Task Force 141, Price and Soap aim to hunt down Shepherd and kill him for his crimes.

Without the assistance of Roach and Ghost, who were killed at the hands of Shepherd, they contact Makarov offering to kill Shepherd for him.

Makarov grudgingly reveals his location at a mountain base in Afghanistan (codenamed Site Hote Bravo). The two raid the base and attempt a suicide mission to get their revenge, but Shepherd attempts to flee on a Zodiac motorboat.

After a long, dramatic pursuit down a river, it ends with Price shooting down Shepherd's Pavelow. The helicopter crashes, while Price and Soap tumble down a waterfall.

A dazed Soap manages to climb to his feet, equipped with only his knife and heads for the fallen Pavelow. He gets sight of Shepherd and moves in for the kill, but Shepherd counters and slams Soap onto a destroyed car, steals his knife and stabs him in the chest.

The tyrant then proceeds to inform Soap how he "lost 30,000 men in the blink of an eye" and proceeds to empty his .44 Magnum, loading two bullets in it.

The situation looks bleak for Soap. but just before Shepherd can pull the trigger, Price tackles Shepherd and the two engage in a brutal fistfight.

Price holds his own, but Shepherd gets the upper hand. However, it bought enough time for the wounded Soap to pull the knife from his chest and throw it into Shepherd's eye; instantly killing him.

Price gets back to his feet and inspects Soap's wounds as Nikolai arrives in a helicopter to extract the pair.

Nikolai warns them that they will be pursued, but Price insists that Soap receives medical attention. Nikolai proceeds to take Soap and Price to a safe place, both of which are now globally wanted criminals - they go into hiding.
