Marvel's Avengers' MCU-Inspired Outfits Will Cost Players Real Money


Players will soon be able to grab Marvel Cinematic Universe inspired outfits in Marvel's Avengers, but they'll have to pay cash to do so.

Following a tweet last week that suggested they were earnable in-game, Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe outfits will be available exclusively in the Marketplace.

You can check out the initial tweet below, which sure sounds like the MCU outfits will be tied to the new Red Room Takeover event.

In a follow-up tweet, however, the account notes: "To clarify, the outfits inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be available exclusively in the Marketplace for purchase with credits."

This has caused some disappointment among fans hoping for a reason to login for the event.

While I have no issue with premium cosmetics, the conflicting messaging feels like another rake for Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix to step on.

Earlier this month, Crystal Dynamics revealed the Red Room Takeover as part of a 2021 roadmap for the game, culminating in the arrival of Black Panther.

The title is also getting a new Patrol Mode, but is it enough to make it worth playing?
