EA's Knockout City has just reached five million players. Launched last month, this arena-based "dodgebrawl" experience is going from strength to strength and after previously hitting two million players, developers Velan Studios has offered some further insights.
Speaking on the official EA website, Velan Studios released this statement:
Since launch, we’ve seen 5 million new brawlers join us in matches, there’s been amazing— and unexpected— gameplay, hundreds of thousands of Crews were formed, over half a billion KOs landed, millions of hours of gameplay were watched, and—dare we say it?—thousands of friendships were made along the way. Who knew you could bond over hitting one another in the face with a dodgeball?
Knockout City Reaches 5 Million Players
While Knockout City's Block Party trial recently ended, Velan Studios recently extended the free trial, letting players experience it with some restrictions - like being unable to form crews - until reaching Street Rank 25. It's likely benefited from inclusion within Game Pass and EA Play, meaning subscribers to either service on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PS4 could play at no extra cost.
We had positive impressions during our review, which called it "highly entertaining but [an] ultimately safe experience", and post-launch support has already been outlined, so it looks like there's a long life ahead yet for Knockout City.
