Bethesda's Indiana Jones Game Is A Long Way Away It Seems

Despite being announced earlier this year and MachineGames employees already working on it, Bethesda's Pete Hines has suggested that the upcoming Indiana Jones game is a long way away from releasing.

Speaking to Gamespot in an interview Pete Hines, who is Bethesda's Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications said that "we literally just closed that deal so you can make your own guesses at how far along that game is," following up with "it's in the very, very, very early stages".

Therefore, it definitely seems like this project won't be seen for years, likely being revealed close to the middle of this decade, sometime in 2023/2024.

This might be disappointing to some of you, but it is common for these deals with third-parties to be announced early on to generate excitement for the upcoming game. It also likely means the game is in early production right now.

As for what MachineGames is working on, Pete Hines wouldn't offer any confirmation on a new Wolfenstein game, but given that Indiana Jones is a while away it does seem like we will cap off the shooter trilogy before production enters full swing on Lucasfilm's title.

Announced earlier this year, the untitled Indiana Jones game was one of the first projects announced by Lucasfilm Games which is the new branding and banner for all future Star Wars and Indiana Jones games.
