Following the return of the OG, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is finally here. The next major update for Epic Games' battle royale is bound to capture the attention of fans returning to the game for a trip down memory lane.
The start of a new Fortnite chapter means plenty of changes. Although the update marks the end of the OG era, there's plenty of new content in addition to the XP map codes that are always worth knowing.

When does Fortnite Chapter 5 start?
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 has kicked off on December 3, 2023. There was a big event to say goodbye to the OG Fortnite map with the The Big Bang which took place on December 2, shortly followed by downtime that started at 4.30 AM GMT on December 3.

Even if you missed the OG map, don't worry, Epic Games confirmed that it will make a comeback in 2024 due to the overwhelming popularity of classic map.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 LEGO mode
After plenty of teases from LEGO, it's confirmed that Fortnite will feature the iconic blocky figurines.
While not a lot is known about the mode, we know it'll officially come out on December 7 so stay tuned for more news in the coming days.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 battle pass
The battle pass contains plenty of new items to obtain, including Family Guy's Peter Griffin and Metal Gear Solid's Solid Snake, both arriving to the battle royale.
In addition to Peter Griffin and Solid Snake, the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 features Undeground styles for skins included in the battle pass. Alternate costumes for all battle pass skins.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 Rocket Racing
Alongside the LEGO mode, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 will contain a mode dedicated to racing called Rocket racing. This mode will be developed by Psyonix, the popular developers of Rocket League.
There's even a ranked mode for the very best racers to battle it out on the track. Of course, these are just leaks for the time being and as soon as any official information surrounding Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 appears, we'll be sure to keep you posted.
