What Is FMA Mobile?

FMA Hagane (or FMA Mobile to English-speaking fans) is Square Enix’s adaptation of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga in mobile game form. It reportedly follows the manga closely, so if you’ve read that or seen Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, you’ll have a decent idea of what the narrative is about.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen an FMA game or one from Square Enix, though it is one of a handful to adapt the original anime. Square Enix published the Japan-only Prince of the Dawn in 2009 for the Wii as an original story, and Dual Sympathy on the Nintendo DS followed the original anime, which departed drastically from the manga.

Will FMA Mobile havegacha?

Yes, though it seems the FMA game may be less gacha intense than some of Square Enix’s other gacha games, such as Kingdom Hearts Union X.

That game encouraged spending to get traits and better rolls on characters. The FMA pre-registration page lists gems, items, and Winry as bonuses, so it’s possible it’ll resemble Genshin Impact more and rely on character pulls instead.
