Ready to carry on your journey across the stars and go through new Trailblaze Missions? With Honkai Star Rail 2.1 right around the corner, fans of the game are excited to see what’s in store for them as the events in Penacony continue to unfold.

Honkai Star Rail 2.0 introduced us to Penacony, the Land of Dreams, along with some brand-new characters. Patch 2.0 ended on a pretty big cliffhanger, so finding out what comes next is just one of many reasons why players are eagerly awaiting the next update.

Before we get into the details of Honkai Star Rail 2.1, feel free to check out some of our other guides on the game. We’ve got build guides for characters like Hanya and Himeko, and some tips for clearing Simulated Universe World 4.

Honkai Star Rail 2.1 release date

We don’t have an exact date for Honkai Star Rail’s 2.1 update just yet, but we can expect the patch to come in late March. The second half of update 2.0 is set to start at the end of February, and it is expected to last around three weeks.

This is in line with the six-week update cycle that the game has been following since its release. Honkai Star Rail has only deviated from this pattern one time so far, so it’s safe to assume that they’ll continue this trend.

Honkai Star Rail 2.1 new characters

One of the most anticipated aspects of a Honkai Star Rail update is the new units that players can pull for. Here are the characters that can join your roster in patch 2.1:

Acheron

One of the more intriguing people players were introduced to during the 2.0 Trailblaze Missions, Acheron’s banner will be up during the first half of update 2.1. She is a 5-star Lightning element character who walks the path of Nihility.

Nihility units have proven to be quite capable of dealing significant amounts of damage in Honkai Star Rail. Given Acheron’s proficiency with a sword and her status as a Galaxy Ranger, expectations are high for her offensive capabilities.

Aventurine

The second half of Honkai Star Rail 2.1 will give us Aventurine, one of the IPC’s top employees. Aventurine is a 5-star Imaginary character walking the path of Preservation, so you can count on him to keep your party alive during those hard-fought battles.

Like Acheron, Aventurine plays a major part in the Penacony storyline that began in patch 2.0.

Gallagher

The new 4-star unit for Honkai Star Rail 2.1 is a Fire Abundance character named Gallagher. Trailblazers have already encountered Gallagher a few times if they’re all caught up on the latest story missions, but he has yet to make a significant impact on the overall plot.

Honkai Star Rail 2.1 rerun banners

With Honkai Star Rail coming up on its first anniversary, the game has started including reruns for previously released characters. While nothing has been officially confirmed for 2.1 just yet, the following characters are heavily rumoured to make returns in the upcoming patch.

Fu Xuan

A Quantum element character on the path of Preservation, Fu Xuan is arguably the best unit for keeping your party alive. The Master Diviner of the Xianzhou Luofu specializes in mitigating damage, but she is also capable of boosting her teammate's damage output.

So if you’re struggling to survive boss fights or are looking for that last extra bit of damage to clear endgame content, Fu Xuan is definitely one to consider pulling.

Topaz and Numby

Being a Senior Manager within the IPC, Topaz travels to different worlds to collect debts. Always at her side is Topaz’s warp trotter companion, Numby.

Together, the pair team up to deal massive single-target damage while increasing the follow-up damage capabilities of allies. Topaz and Numby follow the path of the Hunt under the Fire element.

That’s all we currently have on Honkai Star Rail 2.1. For more on the game, you can check out our guide on Honkai Star Rail’s pity system.
